The Samsung Galaxy Watch4, announced last August, is available in some colors, but this wearable device has special editions, including the Thom Browne Edition, Bespoke Edition, Maison Kitsune Edition, PXG Golf Edition, and Wooyoungmi Edition. Today, the company will launch Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Black Yak Edition.
Samsung has a partnership with outdoor clothing brand Black Yak, which inspired the new Samsung Galaxy Watch4 model. This smartwatch is aimed at mountaineers and supports Black Yak’s eco-friendly campaigns.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Black Yak Edition has two sizes option, including 40mm and 44mm sizes, and features a unique watch face that changes color from red to green during lunchtime (12 PM to 1 PM) when disposable products are consumed, serving as a reminder to the users to clean the disposable items.
Samsung joined with Black Yak’s Green Yak Campaign, which includes the PlustIC (portmanteau of Plus and Plastic) campaign to recycle PET bottles and the Clean Mountain Campaign that promotes plogging.
The Galaxy Watch4 Black Yak Edition offers mountaineering and hiking modes, and you can even track your route with GPS. Of course, users can access the altitude information too.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch4 Black Yak Edition’s 40mm version will cost KRW279,000 ($220/€210), and the 44mm model at KRW309,000 ($245/€230). The product starts shipping in South Korea starting June 15 through Samsung’s official website, and it comes with an exclusive Black Yak strap, Black Yak tumbler bag, and a 40% discount coupon on Black Yak products.
Samsung makes the Galaxy Watch4 Black Yak Edition support smart outdoor activities and sustainable, eco-friendly values, and the company will develop various projects, such as developing applications for outdoor activities.
