Instagram is now focusing on app improvement to compete with TikTok with the blogging platform’s latest move. According to Matt Navarra’s tweet, Instagram is now on a testing program that makes every video posted to Instagram a Reel so it may reach a larger audience across Instagram and Facebook.
Other sources, a Meta spokesperson, said if the company is still improving the video experience on Instagram. As may you know, Instagram Reels launched in the US in August 2020 and saw immense engagement with the Reels’ short video format.
Some images leaked that video posts are now shared as reels. Instagram hopes the change of feature will make the videos get more engagement. The video effects and music can be added as well.
There’s no clear information if it’s permanence or not. Also not clear what will happen to existing videos published to Instagram, and users can still upload videos on this app for up to 10 minutes and up to 60 minutes on verified accounts.
According to the head of Instagram, Adam Mosseri said, Instagram has no longer a photo-sharing app. The app focuses on creators, video, shopping, and messaging.
