Today, the mid-range 5G smartphone, the Galaxy A51 5G receives software updates. Although this smartphone is over two years old, it was recently relegated to biannual security updates, and it seems Samsung’s sticking to that schedule.
The Galaxy A51 5G receives a new June 2022 security patch, but not July 2022 security patch, but we guess a security patch that’s one month old is not that bad of a thing. The latest update provides stability to the device.
This update is available in the Nordic region and Slovakia, and Samsung will spread the update globally soon. If you’re a Galaxy A51 5G user, you might receive the update notification, or you can update manually through the Settings » Software update menu. This new firmware has an A516BXXU5DVG4 version.
However, keep in mind that your Galaxy A51 5G will receive a major update a few months later. The A51 5G (also the regular A51) is eligible for Android 13, though that will be its last major OS upgrade before Samsung moves software support focus to newer devices.
