Google has announced some new features and apps for Chromebooks for the upcoming school season. These features will arrive on all Chromebooks and Chrome OS devices, including the ones from Samsung.
The most interesting app in this update is Google Photos movie editor. This feature will arrive this fall. This Google Photos movie editor allows users to create movies with their Google Photos images and videos. They can customize with granular control over the movie editor and apply video filters, title cards, and music as well if they wish to create a movie from scratch.
According to Android Authority, the LumaFusion video editor software also will come to Chromebooks. Users can edit PDF files through the Chromebook Gallery app in August. The Screencast app has the ability to record and transcription, making it easier to create how-to clips or presentations. There is a Cursive app as well to help users organize all handwritten notes and copy them to another app if your Chromebook comes with a touchscreen stylus.
Customization features are also expanding, as Chromebooks will receive the long-pending light and dark themes. You can apply them manually or let them apply automatically, depending on the time of the day. You can also use images from your Google Photos app as wallpapers. Virtual desks can now be saved and closed with a single tap.
