The Galaxy A52 and the Galaxy A53 will receive the August 2022 security update. These mid-range smartphones from 2021 and 2022 will roll out the update n Russia, and we expect devices in other countries pretty soon.
The new firmware version for Galaxy A52 is A525FXXU4BVG2, while the update for the Galaxy A53 bumps up its firmware version to A536EXXU3AVGA. If you are a Galaxy A52 or Galaxy A53 user in Russia, you might receive the update notification, or you can check the update through Settings » Software update and tap on Download and install.
According to Samsung’s documentation, the August 2022 security update will fix some bugs, privacy and security-related vulnerabilities. Previously, the MAC address leaked via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and Samsung DeX and Samsung Knox vulnerabilities. The update also brings UI/app bug fixes and device stability improvements.
As may you know, the Samsung Galaxy A52 was launched in early 2021 with Android 11-based One UI 3.0 onboard, and it received the Android 12-based One UI 4 update a few months ago. The company promises to give up to three years of security updates.
Meanwhile the Galaxy A53 released with Android 12-based One UI 4 software earlier this year. Samsung will give this smartphone four major Android OS updates and up to five years of security updates to the Galaxy A53.
