WhatsApp launches new security for the “view once” feature. This feature had released last year, but the first iteration wasn’t infallible. Meta is now improving the security feature in the latest WhatsApp beta.
The “view once” option for images and videos is a feature that allows users to see only once on that files, but they can still screenshot or make screen recordings of the “view once” media files they receive.
Meta is now preventing users from recording of these media files that should expire and completely disappear after one view. The latest version of WhatsApp beta, 2.22.22.3, offers that security feature. Users can’t make a screenshot or screen recordings when they view these files. When someone tries to bypass the system to enable screenshots, the end result will be a pitch-black screen.
However, WhatsApp is still in beta testing and will release sooner.
