Google is now rolling out the new weather feature to all Wear OS 3+ watches. You can search “Weather” on the Play Store today. The new update has the latest Material guidance for Wear OS to create a simple feed layout, which is the norm across wearable platforms nowadays.
This app will detect the weather based on the user’s location. The app will show the current temperature, and the condition icon is flanked by the high and low.
There’s a “Current UV index” to prevent your skin from the sunlight, and users can get a forecast for the “Next 5 hours” and “Next 8days.” While the bottom side shows some menus, like change units, also syncing the information from weather.com, like on the Android app, Smart Displays, Google Search, and widgets.
Users can still monitor the “Forecast” and “UV index” via updating icon while they’re outside the app. When you install the app for the first time, you need to allow the phone system by granting it the “Allow all the time” Location permission.
