Google’s ChromeOS is quickly becoming a popular OS as Windows and macOS alternatives, especially for users who work based on browsing the web. Google also added some features and integration with Android devices. Now, the company plans to launch a minor feature, but it’s very useful.
Users can only know if a ChromeOS device is charging is the visual cue visible from the battery icon. According to 9To5Google, the latest ChromeOS update will get new sound effects when the device receives a low battery. When connected, the device can select three different sound effects, depending on the current battery charge level, including a warm synth sound with slight variations.
The device will make a higher pitch swoop sound when the battery reaches 15%. Of course, this is a better feature than Android smartphones, tablets, and wearables. But that sound can be disabled in the Do Not Disturb mode.
These sound effects are in the development process so that they won’t come on ChromeOS-based devices in the stable form before ChromeOS 110; this feature will be released in February 2023.
