Meta launches a new WhatsApp feature, especially for WhatsApp status. WhatsApp is called “ephemeral updates,” which allow users to share a status that disappears after 24 hours. The update can include photos, videos, GIFs, and text. But now, the features are more varied.
The messaging app now allows users to share status with select contacts rather than everyone. The status includes Voice Status, which will enable users to record and share voice messages of up to 30 seconds.
WhatsApp users can react to the status with eight available emojis by swiping up and long-pressing the status. The latest update can set a specific ring for selected contacts to avoid missing out on status updates from favorite people.
The latest update also brings link previews for status updates, so other users can click the link quickly. WhatsApp developers will roll out this update globally, but it will reach users worldwide gradually over the coming weeks.
