Posted on March 1, 2023

Digital payment methods have changed dramatically over the years, and cash or physical cards were the only options. Many small shops offer payment via Google Wallet, which is now expanding in more countries. This payment method is now available for Android and Wear OS devices in 60 more countries.

According to Google’s blog post, Wallet supports Wear OS devices and is rolling out to a few new countries, including Costa Rica, Kuwait, and Ecuador. The report says Google Wallet comes in more than 62 countries on Wear OS.

Google made the list of countries that support Wallet in August 2022. Now, the list has been updated with more than 45 new countries, including Armenia, Costa Rica, Georgia, Ecuador, Cyprus, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait, Vietnam, Malta, Malaysia, Luxembourg, Mexico, Thailand, and Liechtenstein.

If you’re a Google Wallet user and live in the countries we’ve mentioned above, you still need to make sure that the shop where you are trying to complete the transaction supports Google Wallet. You need to install the Google Wallet app on your Android phone, then it will be shown on your Wear OS smartwatch.

Keep in mind that only Wear OS 2 and Wear OS 3 smartwatches which support this payment method. Once you add the credit card to Google Wallet, you are ready to make the purchases.
