WhatsApp has been adding some new features over the past couple of years. The biggest improvement of this app is the transfer WhatsApp data between Android and iOS devices. Now, users also can connect up to four devices with a single WhatsApp account. Today, the company launched a new feature that will allow users to create a screen sharing.
According to a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now offering a feature that will allow users to share screen during a video call. This feature is now available on Google Play Store to those who have the latest beta version (2.23.11.19) of WhatsApp on their Android smartphone. This feature makes the app easier to showcase something from their phone to others via a video call.
You can see a new icon that appears at the bottom of the screen during a video call. When the button has clicked, there is a new pop-up menu appears that will ask you to confirm the permission to show your phone’s screen and inform you that all the content on the screen will be visible to others on the video call. You can have full control over screen sharing and can stop it by clicking the Stop Sharing button during the call.
This new screen-sharing feature seems similar to Google Meet’s Live Sharing feature, which debuted a couple of years ago, or SharePlay on devices running iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. WhatsApp hopes this feature will really help users, especially the elderly or children, who might need help in getting things done using their phones.
