Samsung rolled out the August 2023 security update to its foldable phones, including the original Galaxy Fold 5G, Galaxy Fold, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2. This update comes in some countries, and more countries should get the update within the next few days.
The latest update has firmware version F900FXXS7HWG1 with the August 2023 security patch. This update comes in Brazil and France. At the same time, the Galaxy Fold 5G version has firmware version F907BXXS7HWG1 in the UK. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 receives an August 2023 security update in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Uruguay, and Paraguay with firmware version F916BXXS4JWH3.
The latest update fixes over 70 security vulnerabilities. If you are a Galaxy Z Fold user who lives in the countries we’ve mentioned above, you can install the new update through Settings ยป Software update and tap Download and Install.
Samsung offers four years of Android OS updates and five years of security updates. As we can see, the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Fold 5G, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 have received three Android OS updates. Unfortunately, these devices won’t get the Android 14-based One UI 6 update, which is expected to be released later this year.
