The Motorola Edge 40 was launched in Europe and India in May. Unfortunately, the North American market has never seen this phone, while the Edge+ (2023) has been around since May.
Today, some sources leaked the upcoming “Motorola Edge (2023)” design and specs as well. It might be an NA version of the Edge 40 or a completely separate model.
The renders show a similar design between Edge 40 and Motorola Edge (2023). It has a curve in the edges of the screen, the lens and LED flash positioning, and the camera island design. If you look closer at the main camera design, you will see a similar design to the Edge 40.
If the rumour is correct, the Edge (2023) will use a 6.55” 144Hz OLED display (FHD+, HDR+), a 4,400mAh battery with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging, and the device will be powered by a Dimensity 8020 chipset. The company also gives the Edge (2023) with an IP68 dust and water resistance rating.
As we can see, the predecessor, Edge (2022), launched at $500 last year, but you will see there was different hardware from the Euro Edge phones. However, we can say the successor will have similar specs to the European Edge 40 Pro and has an MSRP of $800 (but is now down to $700). That’s a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone, however, so the price gap is to be expected.
